A Short Rant

You know what I hate!

I hate that a woman or a girl can not just simply be herself. She must be clean, pretty, and perfect all the time. If she gets one spot of acne that others can see, they will talk about her and say how she must not be taking care of herself and that she should be doing all the other things to be better. A woman cannot simply be. A woman can’t eat too much food because people will look at her and think she is disgusting and a pig. If she eats too little, people will be concerned for her and tell her to eat more. Sometimes a woman will appear too thin for someone, and then they are told they need to eat more and look a certain way. Sometimes a woman will appear too heavy for someone, and they will get shamed publicly and told to eat less and work out. Little do the people know that the woman they are shaming works out every day and could run a marathon and is probably in better shape than they are. I hate that women always have to dress a certain way. You dress too casually, and people assume that you don’t care and that you are a slob, lazy, a mess, and disgusting. You dress up too well, and people think that you are trying to impress someone, and if you are wearing makeup, then you are either really dressing up for someone else, or you must be insecure, and you are wearing too much makeup and are told that you are ugly and you’re covering up. You have too much skin exposed, then you must be asking for someone to take advantage of you, but you cover too much skin, and you are seen as a prude or stuck up or stubborn for not showing off. Long hair is something that ‘real women have to have. If your hair is too short or colored or not brushed and combed and styled every day, then you are lazy and a mess, and ‘you would be prettier if you just brushed your hair and took care of yourself.’

(two posts in one day!? I know its crazy!)
